Trail Report 1-14-15
As we head into the 4th weekend of the snowmobiling season it’s hard to imagine having better early season conditions than we’ve had so far. Overall the trails are good to excellent with only a few thin rough spots to deal with. Groomers have been running and will go again one more time Friday night to get the trails set for what should be a great weekend. As I write this, the forecast is for 1-2 feet of snow Sunday night into Monday. We can only hope this forecast stays on track as it will fix any bad spots we have and add to the rest of it going into February. We’re heading out in the morning to cut downed trees on the Coburn Summit trail to open it up for the groomer. I’ll post tomorrow after we’re done and give a report on that trail.
Reports from almost every rider that I talk to are that the trails are excellent. The warmer temps on Monday before the severe cold really helped to set the trails up well. A little more snow on top will be icing on the cake!
ITS 86 from The Forks to Grand Falls is groomed and ranges from fair to excellent. The section as you leave town along the river needs snow and is rough in spots. From the Lower Enchanted Rd. to Grand Falls is very good. We are still dealing with 2-3 miles of plowed rd but should be done with that this week as the contractor is moving out. PLEASE USE CAUTION WHEN CROSSING THE LOWER ENCHANTED ROAD!! There was a close call with sleds crossing that never looked before they went. It is marked very well but it only works if you follow the instructions on the signs and STOP!!ITS 89 from the intersection of Lake Parlin Connector to Grand Falls is groomed and in good condition.

ITS 87 from the intersection of 88 south to The Forks is overall excellent. The one mile wooded section as you enter our trail system from the north still needs snow but is easily passable. The rest of it is about as good as it gets

The Coburn Connector is groomed and in good condtion.

The Enchanted Loop is groomed and in good condition.

The Lake Parlin Connector is groomed and in good condition.
